Fall and Winter – It’s finally October and the weather is starting to change, then change back, and change back again. It’s time to start filling our bellies with comfort food and our rooms with comfort smells. Here are some brief descriptions of a few of the smells we are accustomed to around the holiday season.
Although I hand-make all of our stuff, I’m not a chemist and have to rely on professionals to make the fragrances(I do mix for my own blends), so please keep in mind that as available supplies become backordered and backordered supplies become available, our availability will likely be in flux. I thought I had a novel idea but it appears that I’m not the only one making candles and melts.
Autumn Flannel – Man, you guys love this one. It has been one of the top three sellers. A little vanilla with spices like ginger, cloves, and cinnamon, all hanging out with musky, woody scents.
Balsam Fir – Ummm….it smells like a fir tree. Who doesn’t like that?
Bourbon Pecan Pie – Dude approved and very popular. If you know me well, you may know pecan pie is my favorite food. The bourbon pairs great with the pecan pie. Now, I’m Southern Baptist so if I were familiar with the smell and taste of bourbon, I wouldn’t admit it here.
Christmas tree – The scent of a Christmas tree with candy canes. Enough said!
Falling Leaves – Another best-seller, it’s woody, and musky, with a little fruit mixed in. I currently have some, but resupply is on backorder.
Peppermint Eucalyptus – Some say these scents are good for relaxation and headache relief. I won’t make that claim because I don’t have enough letters after my name. It smells great though. You definitely cannot go wrong with peppermint anything this time of year.
**New** Spiced Cider – I used to love getting the apple cider in my MREs. Sometimes I would even trade my jalapeno cheese spread for it. That is what this smells like to me. MREs get a bad rap, but there were occasionally some gems in there.
**New** Sweater Weather – Smells like being in the woods, in the morning, in October. Leaves, and wood, and a little bit of mint. Currently, I’m only making this one in melts. If y’all love it, I’ll try to get enough to make candles too.
**Honorable Mention** Bourbon Tobacco Caramel – This reminds me of tobacco country when the farmers are curing their tobacco crop. With a little Kentucky Bourbon underneath, it’s just comfort.
